6-Hour SemAid is an avian semen extender used for artificial insemination of avian species. SemAid was developed by PHL and Dr. Peter Lake to increase the life span of avian spermatozoa beyond the time periods seen with other diluents. The standard formulation of 6-Hour SemAid is a physiologically balanced sugar, salts and PH-buffered solution, which contains no antibiotics or preservatives. The diluent allows negligible losses of motility and livability for at least 6 hours after dilution.
6-Hour SemAid has been produced by PHL since 1983 and has a strong following among turkey breeders and multipliers throughout the United States and Europe. It even has been found to be effective by falconers and breeders of exotic and rare avian species.
6-Hour SemAid is available in both 10 mL and 50 mL vials. The 10 mL vial will inseminate 250 hens and the 50 mL vial will inseminate 1,250 hens.
6-Hour SemAid is produced under strictly sterile conditions and stringent quality control. These high standards ensure production of a premium quality semen extender.
