Since 1983, 6-Hour SemAid avian semen extender has been used by some of the most prestigious poultry companies in the United States.  6-Hour SemAid means just what it says. There is negligible loss of motility and livability up to six hours after dilution. Then, just small decreases between 6 and 12 hours after dilution.

6-Hour SemAid is an avian semen extender developed by Dr. Peter Lake to increase the life span of avian spermatozoa beyond the time periods seen with other diluents, including his own original Lake's diluent.  The standard formulation of 6-Hour SemAid is a physiologically balanced sugar, salts and PH-buffered solution, which contains no antibiotics or preservatives.  The diluent allows negligible losses of motility and livability for at least 6 hours after dilution.

6-Hour SemAid has a strong following among turkey breeders and multipliers throughout the United States.  It even has been found to be effective by falconers and breeders of exotic and rare avian species.

6-Hour SemAid is available in both 10 ml and 50 ml vials.  The 10 ml vial will inseminate 250 hens and the 50 ml vial will inseminate 1,250 hens.

SemAid is stored at room temperature (do not refrigerate) and can be stored for extended periods (indefinitely). The vials are rubber sealed. If using the same vial multiple times and/or if storing for prolonged periods, always visually check the solution to be sure it is sterile. The material should look clear (like water). If any cloudiness or flakiness is observed, the solution should not be used.
